Hardwood floors + bare knees = poor Benny

I have been stewing over how to help ben and his knees when he is crawling. I tried rugs and mats, but they don't cover the whole floor. I stumbled upon this cute idea of repurposing old socks into leg cozies. I had a pair left over from the sock creatures I made and cut them to the correct length and added a band at the bottom. I am so excited and can't wait to make more. They take about 10 seconds to complete! Super easy. oh and don't mind bens mood. This is the best photo of the leg cozies.

mOnsteRs

Last night at young womens a lady brought a book about sock monsters and I fell in love. So today Ben and I went to a thrift store and fourn some interesting socks and I made them into monsters for him. The black and white one is named Poppy, the tall one is Zumba, and the small one is Nugget. I have a few more socks and am on the hunt for more, so I will post the next batch of monsters when they are finished!

Weaning has begun

well, I decided that the month prior to my first born turning one I would start to wean him. That time has come and I am having mixed feelings. Don't get me wrong I am really excited to get a certain part of my anatomy back to normal, I am just worried for Ben. He REALLY loves to nurse. It is comfort for him, and I know it will be so hard to take his "lovey" away (a lovey is like a teddy bear or blanket that they use at nap time or when they need comfort). I am supposed to introduce a new one, but am having difficulty choosing one of those too. He will probably be carrying around for quite a while, so I have to choose something acceptable to be seen in public.

Yesterday was the official starting day. I have a weekly schedule where I slowly take away each feeding. He now only has a feeding when he wakes, and then he can't nurse again till after noon. He was really whiny and clingy. He didn't sleep well during his first nap. Then when he could nurse he was so wound up from not having it, he didn't want his second nap.

So this morning I gave him extra cereal for breakfast and another helping for a snack right before his nap, so he is really full. Hopefully he will want to sleep better. We shall see.

What have you all tried with weaning?
What lovey's have your children had?
any tips on the whole process?

Apron

So I found this fabric by Amy butler that I absolutely am in love with. The problem is that is is discontinued. So I found a yard on e-bay, but I had to select the project I would be using it in carefully. I chose to make a cute apron out of it. I would wear this cooking, crafting and sewing. So I have had the fabric and the pattern for a while now, and in one hour I finished it. I am so happy with it and LOVE the lotus fabric that makes up the main part of the apron. it is so comfy and it ties in a bow in the back! I think this would make a great smock for kids, so i am going to downsize it and use it in my new clothing line coming out soon!
